PwC Türkiye: Interest in November discounts rises to 94%; consumers tread carefully by checking price history
In a PwC Türkiye survey of 10,000 consumers in Türkiye and Europe, shoppers vet discounts using price history, comparison sites, and AI assistants.
What's happening
According to MediaCat, PwC Türkiye's survey found that 54% of consumers in Türkiye tell whether a discount is genuine by checking the product's price history. The share using an AI assistant for pre-purchase research rose from 13% to 20% in a year, while the share giving AI direct purchasing authority held at 12%.
Whose desk it lands on
The executive responsible for customer experience. When customers use price history to check whether a discount is real, can your campaign page back up the old price?
Our view
The CX Brief's interpretation, not a claim made by the source.
Customers are interested in discounts but vet them for themselves: checking price history is now an ordinary habit. AI assistants may speed up that check, but customers keep the decision in their own hands. That is why what makes a discount credible is not the percentage but the ability to show the old price.
