Data controller
For your personal data, the data controller is Atasun Kaşbaş, the individual who publishes The CX Brief under the Nord CX brand. For any privacy question or request: merhaba@thecxbrief.com
Data we collect
The CX Brief does not use advertising or tracking cookies and does not follow you across other sites. The data we process is as follows:
- Newsletter subscription: When you subscribe to the newsletter, we receive your email address and your consent. You give consent through the checkbox on the sign-up form (on the Beehiiv sign-up page that opens when the form is blocked, through the subscribe button) and through the link in the confirmation email we send you; your subscription does not start until you click that link. The sign-up form and newsletter delivery run through our email service provider, Beehiiv; the form is served by Beehiiv. If you arrived at the site through a campaign link (for example, a link with
utm_sourcein its address), this campaign information is also passed to Beehiiv so that we can measure which source a subscription came from. - Site analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics keeps aggregate visit statistics that use no cookies and do not identify individuals. This system does not store your IP address and does not follow you across other sites.
- Suggestion forms: When you suggest an event or a report through the form on the Calendar and Research pages, we store the suggestion details you write (name, organization, date, link, note) and, if you choose to give them, your name and email address in our database on Cloudflare infrastructure. Name and email are not required; they are used only to thank you for that suggestion or to ask you something about it, and they are not added to the newsletter list. Your name and email are deleted automatically 30 days after the suggestion is processed (180 days if it is never processed); the suggestion itself stays as an editorial record. To prevent abuse, we limit the number of suggestions per day: your IP address is not stored, only an irreversibly hashed version of it combined with the date is kept, for at most two days.
- Preference kept in your browser: The playback speed you choose for read-aloud audio is stored only in your own browser and is not sent to us.
Legal basis
We process your email address for the purpose of sending the newsletter based on your explicit consent (Turkish Law No. 6698 (KVKK), Article 5(1), and GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw your consent at any time with the one-click unsubscribe link in the newsletter; you can also ask for your record to be deleted entirely (see Retention). The email address used at the preview sign-in is used only to verify the identity of a person who has permission to access the site. We process the optional name and email you give in the suggestion form, based on your explicit consent, in order to evaluate the suggestion and, if needed, get back to you; you can ask for earlier deletion at any time.
Sharing with third parties
We do not sell or rent your email address for advertising. Data is shared only with the infrastructure providers we use to deliver the service: Beehiiv for newsletter sign-up and delivery; Cloudflare for site hosting, analytics and suggestion form records.
Retention
Your newsletter email address is kept for as long as your subscription lasts. Once you unsubscribe, we will not email you again; our email provider keeps your address flagged as unsubscribed so that no further messages are sent. If you want your record deleted entirely, including this flag, just write to the address below and we will delete it within 30 days. The name and email in the suggestion form are deleted automatically within the periods stated above.
Transfers abroad
The servers of our service providers Beehiiv and Cloudflare are located outside Türkiye, mostly in the United States of America. Your newsletter record and suggestion form information are therefore processed abroad. Only the data needed to deliver the service is shared with these providers.
Your rights
Under KVKK Art. 11 and the GDPR, you have the right to access your data and to request its correction or deletion. For your requests: merhaba@thecxbrief.com
