What's happening

According to Customer Experience Magazine, Microsoft on October 21 launched a public preview of Contact Center Intelligence tools designed to run on top of contact center platforms Microsoft doesn't supply. Microsoft's rationale is that cloud contact center migrations take years and upgrades can run 12 to 24 months.

Our view

The CX Brief's interpretation, not a claim made by the source.

Microsoft's proposal is to test AI without waiting for a migration. And the target audience is not small. According to Metrigy data cited in the article, 38.4% of contact center operations still run on-premises. Being able to start without changing the platform decouples the AI decision from the platform decision.
