More than 1 in 3 consumers used AI to shop on Prime Day 2026!
Of those, 56% turned to LLMs to compare prices and 42% to check price history.

What's happening
According to an opinion piece published on CMSWire, brands publish product stories in spec language while shoppers ask for what they want in their own words; AI assistants answer the question asked, not the message the brand hoped to lead with. In a Stackline survey of 1,500 consumers after Prime Day 2026, cited in the piece, 36% of respondents said they had used AI while shopping; of those, 56% used it to compare prices and 42% to check price history.

Whose desk it lands on
The executive responsible for digital channels. Do our product pages answer the questions customers ask their AI assistants, in the customers' own words?
Our view
The CX Brief's interpretation, not a claim made by the source.
The real problem isn't search ranking but translation: the brand tells its story in its own language, the customer asks in theirs, and the assistant answers the customer's question. Because the answer can be assembled from review sites and communities the brand doesn't operate, fixing the message on its own pages may not be enough.
