Zoom unveils shared customer memory for human and AI agents
According to Zoom, every call, chat and virtual agent conversation adds to a single record of the customer; this is the company's own description of its product.

What's happening
According to Customer Experience Magazine, Zoom used Zoomtopia 2026, its annual customer conference, to unveil what it calls a “unified context layer,” which lets human and AI agents share a common customer memory. In this layer, every call, chat and virtual agent conversation adds to a single record of the customer.
Whose desk it lands on
The contact center leader. Do customers have to repeat themselves as they move from one call to the next, and are you measuring that today?
Our view
The CX Brief's interpretation, not a claim made by the source.
The value of shared memory is judged not by its architecture but by whether customers have to repeat themselves. In a survey commissioned by Five9, 96% of decision-makers said their AI-to-human handoffs preserve context, while 83% of consumers said they still had to repeat themselves.
